2016 Adobe Max Identity

Adobe commissioned me to create the identity for the 2016 MAX conference. The MAX logo is derived of geometric forms, so it was fitting to use my ongoing 'geometric reflections' series as the inspiration for the project.

Getting the reflections right can be a challenge even with just one simple geometric shape, you can't just slam a mask on any photograph and have the effect work. This situation had the added challenge of needing legibly display typographic forms. To solve for that I created a handful of experimental templates based around the research I was doing for photo locations.

(thx google)

Armed with my photo equipment and my obsessive love of Photoshop I hopped on a plane and headed out west and got to work. This is the result:

M: Anza-Borrego Desert State Park
A: Downtown San Diego
X: Sunset Cliffs (at sunset)
